November 5th – December 28th
Even though we may not like to be reminded, Christmas is right around the corner and there are gifts that are needed to be purchased for family and friends. The Artist’s Boutiques held in nearby Laurel, Maryland, can help you kill two birds with one stone. You get to enjoy shopping in our idyllic state, and your friends and family get to benefit from the talents of our local artists!
Vacation shopping is even more fun when your trip coincides with the holidays, and the Anne Arundel County Holiday Farmer’s Market is the perfect place to start your magical shopping expeditions! Starting at 8 AM and lasting until noon, this fabulous farmers market features more than fruits and veggies; it’s the perfect place to pick up some goodies for your deserving family members! Find it at Harry S Truman Parkway and Riva Road.
This next festival has us rubbing our stomachs and saying a hearty yum—the Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival held on the First Block of West Street allows us to gorge our inner starving children! With over 30 chocolate vendors, it won’t be difficult to let the binging begin, and because some people think there’s more to life than chocolate, there will also be gifts, artwork, and other types of food and drink for sale! The only thing better than Christmas presents and Christmas food is seeing all the colorful and glittering Christmas lights, and when your journey brings you to Annapolis on December 9th, it’s the Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade that will bring your happiness to new heights! Featuring dozens of boats dressed in their holiday finest and floating along the Spa Creek and Ego Alley, this free event will have even the most cynical of visitors believing in Santa Claus!
The last day of the year is pretty special around here; this year it’s also the date of the Military Bowl and Parade! Featuring the Budweiser Clydesdales and a bunch of burly young men fighting over a brown leather ball, if you’re planning on being in town on New Year’s Eve, your Annapolis journey won’t be complete unless you experience at least one of these events!
