Flooring made of high-end materials leads the way to rooms that are comfortable, stylish, warm, and welcoming: cheerful kitchens containing quality appliances, (many kitchens have two of everything which will come in handy for entertaining those really big crowds), cozy living areas with fireplaces to keep our guests warm in the winter, and bedrooms that are sanctuaries of peace and harmony. You’ll also find bathrooms that are spacious and spa-like, dining rooms with tables built for families, and in some of our homes, game rooms with pool and foosball tables, theatre rooms, and built-in bars. Add in luxury amenities, large yards, and the occasional pool or hot tub, and these homes MIGHT be considered good enough for the families of the men and women who are about to become heroes as they receive their commissions and begin to serve and protect our country in times of peace and war!

Quiet moments during an evening in don’t have to be that quiet, especially when you spend those moments playing board games or charades! Third Eye Games and Hobbies at 209 Chinquapin Round Road Suite 400 offers games for sale, but in many of our properties, a few games are included with the home, eliminating the need for this particular shopping trip. Hot cocoa you made the old-fashioned way with baking chocolate and milk and a good book enjoyed by the fire in our homes with fireplaces is an activity that can easily be squeezed in between Commissioning Week events. Our homes are an integral part of the vacation experience, and it’s important to your peace of mind that you take a few minutes here and there to enjoy all the amenities they have to offer!

What to Do During Your Annapolis Commissioning Week Stay
There will be plenty of Annapolis Commissioning Week activities to keep you happily occupied. With award ceremonies at the United States Naval Acadamy, religious services, concerts, and the opportunity to watch the Blue Angels perform their magic in the skies, this week will be full of entertainment! But when you need to step back and take a breather from the emotions that accompany this emotional event, you can still have a good time exploring the other options Annapolis has to offer.
Hike the trails of Quiet Waters Park, enjoying the beauty of another wonderful spring day in Maryland. The stunning landscape of the park includes the South River, a quietly beautiful pond, and a host of flowers and plants designed to increase the appeal of a day in the park!
As the sun sets on another glorious day, a visit to Galway Bay Irish Pub for a Guinness and a shot of Jameson completes the perfect day. Located at 63 Maryland Ave, their Bangers and Mash is our favorite dish, but you may want to try Miss Peggy’s Crab Cake Dinner for a true taste of Maryland!
Since you’re in town for commissioning, of course you’ll want to stop in at the U.S. Naval Academy Museum to learn more about the academy, its history, and Beaux-Arts architecture. And who doesn’t love to watch the midshipmen march in formation at noon? Spend the day exploring historic downtown Annapolis. As you wander through town, a few places to visit are the Annapolis Maritime Museum and Park where you can learn about the area’s maritime heritage as well as the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding waterways, and the Museum of Historic Annapolis where you can view exhibits on the inhabitants of Annapolis for the past 400 years. Both Hogshead, a restored gambrel-roofed house renovated to depict life for 18th century “lower and middling” inhabitants of Annapolis, and the Banneker-Douglas Museum, housed in the Victorian-Gothic former Mount Moriah African Methodist Episcopal Church and named for the black scientist Benjamin Banneker and black social crusader Frederick Douglass, are worth a visit. And so are the Hammond-Harwood House (the “jewel of Annapolis”) and the William Paca House and Garden, the restored 18th century home of William Paca, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
