A Joyous Occasion
Even though it may seem there are thousands of people attending the ceremonies and events that take place during Commissioning Week, it is really quite an exclusive group, and you and your family should be proud that you have a family member or friend who has made it this far! And as your graduate represents the future of our country, we work hard to make sure our homes truly represent the charms of Annapolis! Step into spaces that welcome all guests, offering fully equipped kitchens that are the heart of the home, dining spaces where families can gather together to eat, play, or converse, and living rooms with couches built for napping and smart screen televisions meant for surfing channels.
Some of our properties may offer cozy reading nooks and bookshelves filled with reading materials to keep you entertained during your stay, while others offer backyard paradises with swimming pools, hot tubs, and barbecue grills that allow you to continue the celebration with your favorite charred meats. Raise a champagne toast to your graduate at the dinner table, watch the sun set over the water from the patio, or simply sleep like a baby in beds so comfortable you will wish you could bring them home with you for your own home! Every minute spent inside our At Home Annapolis Commissioning Week short-term rentals promises to be joyous, happy, and oh so very comfortable!
More Time Means More Adventures
The best part of your decision to spend a few extra days or more in Annapolis is knowing you will have more time to explore the activities we have to offer and still be able to take part in the events that take place during Commissioning Week. Go back and forth between concerts and award ceremonies as scheduled, and when the merriment is over, start your exploration of Annapolis in earnest!
Your graduate faces an exciting future, but your trip into the past will give you goosebumps when you visit the homes of signers of the Declaration of Independence; there are only 15 such homes left in the nation, and four of those can be found right here in our hometown. Charles Carroll, Samuel Chase, William Paca, and Thomas Stone all resided in Annapolis, and although indoor tours are currently held in abeyance due to COVID 19, it is still worth a visit to be able to say you walked in the footsteps of history!
Shopping is a popular vacation pastime, and the shops that decorate the streets of Annapolis are often located in historic buildings, giving them a charm and a sense of purpose not often found in today’s shopping establishments. Bring home a piece of pottery with a visit to the Annapolis Pottery at 40 State Circle, shop for handcrafted home décor at Woodcraft Artisans, 155 Main Street, or bring home something special for your pet or house sitter when you stop by and check out the wares found in Local by Design Downtown, 109 Main Street.
A Savory Adventure
Foodies love to sample the meals that represent our region of the world, especially the varieties of crab cakes that can be found in many of the local restaurants. If not considered our state food, they should be, as Maryland is known for the sweetness of their meat and the sheer size of their crab-filled crab cakes! You can’t go wrong anywhere you visit when you choose this option from the menu, but if you are dining at the Boatyard Bar & Grill (400 Fourth Street), O’Leary’s Seafood Restaurant (310 Third Street), or Wild Country Seafood (124 Bay Shore Avenue), and you DON’T try their cakes, you will definitely be missing out on the most tasteful adventure you have ever enjoyed!
Here’s to the Future!
Last year’s virtual Commissioning Week put a damper on Annapolis celebrations, so we are definitely happy to be back to in person events and are thrilled to be able to welcome you into our homes! Reserve your At Home Annapolis Commissioning Week short-term rental today and raise a glass to the very bright future your graduate faces!
