After the rush of winter holidays have been completed, there is a long dry period between President’s Day in February until the next three-day weekend in May. We work, we scrape the snow off our windshields, and we try not to complain too much about how tired we really are! But in those months of hard work, we often start planning what we are going to do for Memorial Day Weekend, and because this holiday is the official start of summer (even though the calendar gives it another month), we really want to do something special. If your thoughts during these difficult months are turning in the direction of Annapolis, this guide to our Memorial Day vacation rentals in Maryland will help finalize your decision!
Summer Sensations
As the weather starts to warm up and the days last longer, our At Home Annapolis vacation rentals really begin to shine! Offering necessities that include fully equipped kitchens and bedrooms that are havens of peace and comfort, it is the little luxuries that make these spaces feel like home, only better! Yards with patios, barbecue grills, and flower beds filled with cheerful blooms are where you will spend many hours, sipping your favorite beverages or perhaps enjoying a meal you grilled yourself. Soaking tubs in many of the bathrooms help ease the aches you may have garnered during a day of sailing on the bay, and on the occasional rainy day, a roaring fire in the fireplace of some of our rentals will warm your chilled bones. Commissioning Day at the US Naval Academy takes place on this last weekend of May, and we offer a large selection of homes that are within shouting distance of the Academy. Some properties come with a pool in the backyard, others offer bayfront views, and still others may offer the simple pleasures of a bubbling fountain in the backyard; water fun is key in our city on the bay, and we do our part to keep the fun going!
We Love a Parade
Due to the limitations placed on us by the pandemic, the 2020 Memorial Day Parade was canceled, but at this point in 2021, it is looking as if all systems are go for this traditional celebration! Starting at 10 in the morning on May 31, the parade meanders through town, beginning on West Street and ending at City Dock, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony that is scheduled to be held at Susan Campbell Park.
