Same Great Style at Our Commissioning Week Rentals
If you’ve spent any time with us before, you already know what to expect from our weekly rentals, but if this is your first time, let us paint the picture of an At Home Annapolis property! Warm and inviting, our guests feel at home from the first turn of the key in the lock until the final closing of the door at the end of their week in paradise! Featuring kitchens that are designed to be the heart of the home, saving money on your getaway is far easier when you can choose which meals to eat out and which to stay home and prepare yourself. Dining areas with enough seating for the whole family offer spaces to eat a family meal together, or if you find the time, to play the board games that your children loved when they were little. In the living areas, although the styles and amenities may differ from place to place, the furnishings will be comfortable and the state of the art televisions will be there for the quiet moments before falling asleep each night. In the private areas of our weekly Commissioning Week rentals, the bedrooms are tranquil spaces, ensuring deep and restful sleep. Waking up refreshed and recharged each morning will give our guests the energy they need to enjoy all the different Annapolis Commissioning Week activities!
Filled with Fun, Happiness, and a Few Tears
Your main reason for being here that week in May will keep you busy (and perhaps more than a little emotional!), but there will be moments in between that you can take for yourself. Enjoy a lunch break at Vin 909 Winecafe, take a walk around the gardens of the William Paca House, or find a bench by the bay and spend some time people watching and enjoying the wonderful spring air during Annapolis commissioning week.
For those traveling with the siblings of their graduates, now might be the perfect time to introduce the next generation of potential US Naval Academy graduates to the wonders of Annapolis. The National Cryptologist Museum at 8290 Colony Seven Road in nearby Annapolis Junction never fails to incite excitement and wonder in the younger generation; it’s all about spy stuff and there’s nothing cooler! The only museum known to be connected with the National Security Agency, the exhibits and artifacts contained within fascinate us.
Another museum that may pique interest in your younger children is the one located right here at the US Naval Academy, the US Naval Academy Museum. Located at 118 Maryland Avenue on the grounds of the Academy, this tribute to everything US Navy will thrill the kids and bring a touch of patriotic pride to the parents. You became a part of this exciting world when your child signed on, and the Naval Academy thanks you for loaning your most precious accomplishment to them.
Finally, even the most mature of children are probably more than a little tired of museums, so why not take them to one of the many parks in the area and let them run off some excess energy while you sit and enjoy the time off your feet and views that will take your breath away. Thomas Point Park at 3890 Thomas Point Road is one of our absolute favorite parks, offering grassy areas to play, beautiful views of the water, and walking trails that are easy to navigate.
These moments may not be the highlights of your trip—obviously watching your child graduate from the Naval Academy takes that honor—but their sweet impact will never be forgotten.
