Affordable food and drinks, and a friendly, down home atmosphere are what make this pub so great. It makes sense. The pub’s motto is “Where there are no strangers, only friends you haven’t met.”
The pub has a cool history, too. Originally founded by lifelong resident George Washington Davis, who it opened as a confections and general store in the 1920s, the Davis Lounge was the go-to pub for local watermen in the 1940s. In 1986, the corner pub became the current Davis’ Pub. The pub provided shelter and comfort for local watermen in this working-class neighborhood.
The TVs in the room play the local games. The bartenders are chatty, gregarious and down-to-earth friendly. Bartenders promise this will become your neighborhood go-to pub in no time. Classic rock, country and ’80s tunes play from the jukebox while you sip your beer.
Classic Pub Foods
Don’t miss out on the classic menu item: a basket of crab balls, delightful meatball-size crab cakes that arrive with saltines and creamy dipping sauce.
Menu items at Davis’ Pub Annapolis are classic pub grub: pulled pork sandwiches with purple citrus slaw; corned beef Reuben piled on rye with swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and 1000 island dressing; and a fried cod sandwich with tartar sauce. Fried pickles, crab dip, and nachos are all starters here.
Happy Hour is Monday through Friday, 3:30-6:30 p.m.
Community Oriented Service
Davis’ Pub Annapolis participates in several community events, too. Since 1998 when the event was created, Davis’ Pub has had a team in the annual tug of war. The Maritime Republic of Eastport’s competition was created in 1998 to drum up more business while the Eastport Bridge was closed for repairs. The pub also hosts an annual food drive and helps with the upkeep of the 4th Street Park.
Davis can be your neighborhood pub when you stay with us. We know you’ll love it just as much as we do. Be careful not to stay too long or you’ll blend in with the locals. Call At Home Annapolis today to book your rental!
