Chesapeake Children’s Museum
Your older children and the adults in your family or party will love the exciting water sports or the history-filled walking tours through Annapolis. But what do you do for the younger children who are looking to join in on the fun too? You take them to the Chesapeake Children’s Museum, of course! Here is what they can enjoy during your next trip to Annapolis:
A Fun Learning Environment
Everything is hands-on at Chesapeake Children’s Museum. There is a 10-foot boat and dock for traveling the seven seas, live animals to see and touch, hand puppets and dress-ups for make-believe, a pretend doctor’s office, and so much more! Since 1992, Chesapeake Children’s Museum has been serving children who visit and who live in the Annapolis area. The Chesapeake Children’s Museum is located in a former radio station building surrounded by a five-acre Creekside park. Outside there are ponds to explore plus picnic tables and a nature trail.
Special Events and Programs
There are two regular programs each week. Creek Critters is open to all ages each Thursday at 10:30 am. Take a guided nature walk through the woods, past wetlands and to the creek to observe wildlife as it changes from season to season. Art and Story Time is held each Friday at 10:30 am. Snuggle up for some stories, songs, and finger plays. Smocks are provided for messy art!
Call or check the website for special events each month. If you are traveling with a Girl Scout, you may find a badge workshop or Journey program to bring her to.
